Many people have heard about the benefits of mindfulness and meditation but are not sure where to start.
This workshop will give you the tools to begin building a consistent personal mindfulness and meditation practice. You'll learn breathing techniques to calm your mind and nervous system. You'll experience greater focus and mental clarity through guided meditations and movement. And through a variety of experiences and teachings you’ll feel a greater sense of integration with the body/mind connection.
Practices include:
- How to develop Awareness of Daily Mindful Living
- Basic Mindfulness Meditations in Breath & Body - with movement and with stillness
- Diaphragmatic Breathing - to increase blood oxygenation, release muscle tension, improve concentration, strengthen the immune system, reduce stress and anxiety.
- Ujjayi Breathing - “victorious” to build focus and heat with sound awareness.
- Nadi Shodhana – "alternate nostril breathing" to clear and balance respiratory channels.
- Open Awareness Meditation through the Senses
- Seated Silent Meditation
- Guided Relaxation
